We all, even if secretly hope that something will happen to change our situation, that new medication maybe or the people that can do it for us so that they can improve our situation and help us into recovery and allow us to carry on doing the same things we do now and expect change. Unfortunately not changing what we are doing about our situation will not cause change. As the name suggests, change requires us to do new things. Out with the old and in with the new! It can be an exciting time as we can become and do whatever we want so try saying yes to new positive, beneficial opportunities when they arise. To get change we must attend meetings, find and socialise with new friends in recovery, delete and change phone numbers, start to plan your day to name so that you have a routine and structure, just to list a few. The more we put into our recovery, the more we will get out. So try something new and do things differently if you want to achieve long lasting, effective, positive change!…
