What you say is just as important as what you don’t say. In recovery we often procrastinate about our recovery. We often say things but don’t follow up on them or we make promises that we then don’t keep.
In your recovery, the intention and meaning behind what we say and do are vital! When we actively use and/or drink, we often say things with the wrong intentions or promise things we then don’t keep. Changing our mindset toward being positive and honest.
Each day, try to actively practice this skill with others if possible, demonstrating that your intentions are both positive and honest. Remember that the way we say things are just as important as the words we actually use.
